Bio
Joe Nusbaum has been licensed to practice law in the State of Florida since 1997. He is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as Circuit Mediator. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation. The litigation practice areas in which he has experience include personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, and premises liability. Joe has extensive trial experience, while representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Joe is bilingual. He speaks both English and Spanish.
Overview
Joseph N. Nusbaum is a bilingual (Spanish) native of the South Florida area, having graduated from high school in Miami Beach. He attended the University of Miami, where he received his B.A. in 1993. Joe then spent one year as a middle school teacher before attending Nova Southeastern University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1997. While attending law school, Joe was selected as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where he was responsible for leading several jury trials that lead to DUI criminal convictions.
Now a partner in the firm, Joe specializes in matters dealing in Medical Malpractice, Auto Accidents, Faulty or Unsafe Products, Premises Liability, and Nursing Home Negligence. His trial accomplishments include the well-publicized matter of Amora v. State of Florida, Department of Children and Families that resulted in the largest jury verdict in history against that entity (35 million dollars), as well as several other multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Joe has achieved and retained the highest rating, “AV”, by Martindale-Hubbell, which is an independent lawyer rating publication based upon peer review. He has also been recognized by his peers as being a “Super Lawyer,” as well as being a member of The National Trial Lawyers, “Top 100 Trial Lawyers.”
Joe’s accomplishments in the legal field include: 2002 Lawyer of the Year for Juvenile Advocacy; Palm Beach County Lawyer of the Month, March 2002; Invitation to join U.S. Millionaires Club; 2005 Gold Level Recognition – Pro Bono Contribution; Pro Bono Recognition, Young Lawyers Division, by Florida Supreme Court Justice Pariente; 2004 Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award; Tobias Simon Award for Pro Bono Service.
